SPOTLIGHT ON BSPS LIHS PERFORMANCE CLASSES

We are delighted to hold five Performance Pony Classes this year after a very successful first year in 2023. All these classes are open to non-members of BSPS, but if qualified BSPS membership would have seven days to complete their registration and membership.

Junior Performance Pony – Ponies not exceeding 128cms, Riders under 12 years on 1st January 2024

Performance Pony – Ponies not exceeding 148cms, Riders under 17 years on 1st January 2024

Performance Pony/Horse - Ponies not exceeding 158cms, Riders any age

Performance Coloured Non-Native Horse/Pony - 4 years old or over, Riders any age                

Performance Coloured Native/Traditional/Cob Horse/Pony - 4 years old or over, Riders any age

Method of Judging: Exhibitors will go round the ring as a whole group (no pull-in). They will undertake a display (rather than a show) where they would need to show certain movements.

Display to include

• Walk including a walk on a free rein

• Trot

• Canter on both reins

• Canter circle

• Canter transitions on the straight

• Extension in canter on one rein

• Halt

Manners & Way of Going 10 Marks

Presentation, Suitability & Condition 10 marks

Type & Freedom of Action 10 marks
