Membership Subscription:

The Membership subscription of £50 is inclusive of VAT, and those who are VAT registered may request a VAT receipt. Members can continue to pay their subscription through a standing order, BACS transfer, cheque or cash. We advise any members who currently pay through standing order to amend their payment before this year’s renewal as membership will only be sent out reflective of the amount paid.

Member’s Tent Layout:

We are excited to announce that we now have an enhanced offering for Members with access to the Members only bar and dining facilities and the opportunity to have uninterrupted Main Ring views meaning you won’t miss the fantastic schedule of events we have lined up! As a result of this amendment the entrance to the Member’s marquee has been relocated to the gable end of the marquee, near to the Secretary’s tent.

Annual General Meeting:

The Annual General Meeting of Blakesley & District Agricultural Show Ltd. will be held on Thursday 21st November 2024 in the Reading Room, Blakesley.

Member’s Farm Walk 2024:

This year’s Farm Walk will be hosted by Mark Woods of Portway Farm, Twyford, Buckingham MK18 4EA. The farm is a 1,400 acre dairy farm with a newly installed robotic milking system. The Farm Walk will take place on Wednesday 26th June, meeting at 6pm at the dairy. All those wishing to attend should contact Robert Duncombe. Blakesley Show will provide food and refreshments after the farm walk.

Annual Cricket Match:

The annual cricket match between Blakesley Village Cricket Team and the Blakesley Show Committee Team will take place on Sunday 21st July 2024 at 2pm on Blakesley Cricket Field. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be available.

Blakesley Show Ball:

The show will be hosting its biannual Summer Ball this year! The ball will be held at the showground on Saturday 27th July 2024. The event will host Posh Parties Live Saxophonist and DJ, Cocktails and Shots Bars and dinner. More details of this event are available by emailing blakesleyballtickets@gmail.com

Vintage Working Weekend:

The vintage working weekend will be taking place this year on Saturday 31st August – Sunday 1st September by kind permission of John Sheppard at Poplars Farm, Greens Norton Rd, Blakesley, Towcester, NN12 8SY. This year will host a spectacular display of steam and horse ploughing, classic and vintage machinery, vintage combining and much more. Food and drink will be on offer to purchase.

Agrii Blackgrass Trial Event & Agrii Day

Committee Member and agronomist Jamie Lyttle has set up a trial site to help growers with blackgrass challenges they face. Jamie has been a member of the Agrii team for the past 5 years and is keen to give an insight into this new blackgrass trial and provide advice and support on blackgrass queries. Jamie and his team are hosting an Agrii evening to demonstrate their findings and research and would like to invite Blakesley Show members to join. The Event will be taking place on Thursday 6th June 2024 from 4-6pm for members and Friday 7th June 2024 at 12pm for all. There is also the opportunity to look at cover crop mixes and SFI options such as winter bird food, herbal Leys and others.
